New to Church

Welcome to Holy Trinity Bembridge!

We want you to know that no matter what your background, race, sexuality, or gender is – you belong here! Whether you’re new to faith or new to the village, we’d love to get to know you!

Depending where you are on your faith journey, you might like to come to one of our Sunday services, join the next Alpha group, play in our Worship Band, bring your little one along to Trinity Church Mice … or just pop in for a coffee with us in The Cloisters. Whatever feels right for you is a great first step!

Our next Alpha Course starts on Thursday 3 March 2022 – Thursday 28 April 2022 at 19:00 (plus a Saturday morning TBA).

The Alpha Course is an opportunity to explore Christian faith in a relaxed, thought-provoking environment. The course takes place in The Cloisters and runs over ten evenings and a Saturday morning

Every session starts at 19.00 with a delicious supper followed by a short talk. There is then time to ask questions and discuss. Some members of the group will love to participate and others will prefer to listen and reflect. Whatever your style, we want you to feel relaxed and comfortable

  1. Is there more to life than this?
  2. Who is Jesus – our ability to know God?
  3. Why did Jesus die – the greatest solution to the greatest problem?
  4. How can I be sure of my faith?
  5. Why and how should I read the Bible?
  6. Why and how should I pray?
  7. God in our lives – How does God guide us and heal us?
  8. What about suffering and evil and what we can do?
  9. What about the Church – broken or glorious?

Saturday Morning: Who is the Holy Spirit & what does it mean to be filled with the presence of God?

We usually run two Alpha courses each year

The Bible Course

–  Exploring Further

The Bible Course starts on Tuesday 1 February 2022 – Tuesday 22 March 2022 at 19:00.

Big, complex, old … just some of the words people use to describe the Bible. Sound familiar? That’s where The Bible Course comes in!

Giving you a “birds-eye view” of the world’s best-selling book, the course will increase your confidence, equip you to read the Bible more easily and help you to see its relevance in your daily life. Over eight interactive sessions, it combines video teaching, group discussion, personal reflection and daily readings

The Bible Course is ideal as a follow-on from Alpha or for people wishing to increase their understanding of the Bible

Small Groups

Holy Trinity Bembridge is much more than just church on Sundays! We also have Small Groups meeting throughout the week. These provide a range of mid-week opportunities for fellowship, teaching and worship.  They take place at various times during the week and are a great way to get involved in church life.  Small Groups are becoming an increasingly important part of our church life.  Home Groups are one example of a Small Group. Home Groups provide a basis for Bible study, discussion, learning, caring and friendship

To find out more about Small Groups, please contact the Vicar, Steve Daughtery, 01983 872436

Joining a Team

Joining a Holy Trinity Bembridge team will enable you to make a difference to life in both our village and our church. Apart from the feel-good factor, it’s a fantastic way to get involved and meet a cross-section of people. A great opportunity for you to make the most of your passions, skills and spiritual gifts – and wonderful experience too!

If you can help with practical, creative, administrative, musical, technical or supportive tasks, there is a team for you!

Whether you can offer a weekly or once in a while commitment, we’d love to hear from you

Our Children’s Club team also run activities linked to the theme of the church service, either at the back of church or in The Cloisters, our church hall, which is next door.  The children always start off in church, with the congregation. We welcome children of all ages, but if your little one is under three, we would ask that they are accompanied by a responsible adult

We currently have a mixed age group but hope, as our numbers grow, to break out into smaller age-specific groups
