Legacy Gift

Dear Friend,

We are privileged if we can leave a mark of our passing, to be remembered by those people and causes we’ve cared for in life.  A bequest to your church is one of the most valuable and lasting ways you can continue to support its mission and ministry.

As members of Holy Trinity church, many of us have been giving regularly to its mission and ministry.  Our generosity has been a response to God’s abundant grace and is demonstrated through our lives and the lives we share with others.

Our church relies entirely upon the support of its generous membership.  Our giving is vitally important and helps sustain our mission both here in our church and village.  This can be seen through every ill person visited, every Alpha course run, every school assembly taken, every bereaved family comforted, every baptism celebrated, and every person who has been shown the love of Christ through the care and compassion of every member of our church.

A Legacy

Beyond our regular lifetime giving, a gift in your bequest can be a final and powerful expression of your gratitude and thanksgiving towards God, and can help transform our ministry.

We pray that as you plan how to distribute your estate, you will feel encouraged to remember your church family and we invite you to consider how a gift in your bequest could help the church meet the needs of future generations.  The church is a charity and therefore if your estate bears inheritance tax, then no tax will be payable on the amount gifted to Holy Trinity.

Writing your Will

Making a Will and updating it regularly is the only way to make sure your wishes are carried out after your death, giving you peace of mind that you can continue to support the family, friends and causes you love.

Wills are legal documents, and as small errors can cause big problems, it’s vital to have someone legally qualified to draft it.  As well as using your solicitor, there are a number of low cost Wills, or individual and charity based schemes available. To find out more, please visit www.churchlegacy.org.uk/lowcostwills   No matter how large or small, every gift can make a difference.

We will discuss possible uses of your gift with the executors of your Will when the time comes, bearing in mind your known areas of interest (e.g. music, buildings, children and youth, overseas mission).

Should you wish to talk to someone in confidence about what your gift might fund, and how/if you would like your gift to be acknowledged; please contact Rev Clare King or me.

With love

Steve

Planning your Visit

gateway-new-to-church-1

Welcome to Holy Trinity Bembridge!

The following information is specifically for those planning a visit, so that you know, beforehand, what to expect on a Sunday morning.

Where and When

8.00am

We meet at St Lukes Chapel for a quiet and traditional “said” service using the Book of Common Prayer.

10.30am

We meet at Holy Trinity Church  for a more relaxed and modern language service using Common Worship with a mixture of traditional hymns and contemporary worship songs.

For your first visit, we recommend arriving 10-15 minutes early to ensure you are able to park nearby and find somewhere to sit before the service begins. When you arrive, you should be greeted by someone on our Welcome Team who will be wearing a Welcome lanyard.

The church is accessible to people with disabilities with a disabled access toilet, a Loop System and large print service sheets available. Please just ask one of the welcome team upon arrival if you need any help.

We serve tea, coffee and biscuits after the 10.30am service in the Cloisters.  It is a great way to meet people and to find out more about us. You would be very welcome to join us.

What about my children?

IMG 7901Children’s Club, our Sunday School is available for children of 10 years and under every Sunday at our 10.30am service.  Activities vary depending on the age but always include a friendly welcome, bible stories, music & craft.
